Indian grocery stores, sweets and bakeries

These are the stores people drive across town for: rice and atta in big bags, fresh curry leaves, frozen parathas, pickles, puja items and festival sweets. Triveni Supermarket alone has five locations on this list (the University area, Pineville, Concord near Concord Mills, Tega Cay and Waxhaw), and Patel Brothers has stores in the University area and in Pineville.

Smaller stores fill the gaps. Radhe Indian Supermarket and Mythri Mart sit on Charlotte Highway in the Indian Land and Fort Mill area, Subham Supermarket is in Ballantyne, Konark Grocers and Prakriti Nepali and Indian Grocery are on Independence Boulevard toward Matthews, Rice N' Spice Market is in Concord, and Indian Fresh Mart serves Mooresville and Lake Norman. Central Market Charlotte on Albemarle Road and Prakriti also stock Nepali products.

Before Diwali, Navratri or a big puja, call your store to ask about fresh produce delivery days and sweet box preorders; stock runs low in festival weeks. The grocery guide groups these stores by part of town.
