Places and privacy

Our 879 named places combine manually curated locations, OpenStreetMap, and local geographic data. They are approximate reference points, not verified addresses or membership boundaries. This is a place directory; it does not establish where Indian residents live.

Nearby distances are straight lines between these centers, not driving routes. Device location is used only in this browser to find a nearby mapped place. Private WhatsApp invitations and member lists are not collected.

Population context

The optional layer uses Census Bureau 2020–2024 ACS 5-year estimates, table B02015, “Asian Indian alone.” This category does not include everyone of Indian origin or all South Asian groups. These are estimates of people, not families, households, or current counts.

Coverage: Cabarrus, Iredell, Mecklenburg and Union in North Carolina; Lancaster and York in South Carolina. This is a selected six-county area, not the full Charlotte metro. Tracts are statistical areas and do not match named neighborhoods. Estimates below 50 are grouped; margins of error use 90% confidence.
