Where to watch Indian movies in Charlotte
Most weeks a handful of Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam films open in Charlotte, and they land at the same few multiplexes. This page tells you which ones, how to find a show without opening six theater sites, and what to expect on a premiere night. We do not copy showtimes here because they change daily. Our movies page pulls verified schedules from four local theaters, and each theater’s own page on the AMC, Regal or Cinemark site has the rest.
We have not found a theater in Charlotte that shows only Indian films; they play at the chain multiplexes. AMC Concord Mills 24 had the widest choice when we checked in October 2026, followed by AMC Carolina Pavilion 22 on South Boulevard, Regal Stonecrest at Piper Glen, Regal Starlight on US Highway 29, Cinemark Bistro on Monroe Road and AMC Northlake 14. Every Indian-language show we checked carried English subtitles, and Telugu films traditionally open with US premiere shows on the Thursday before their Friday release in India.
Good to know
AMC Concord Mills 24: the widest choice
AMC Concord Mills 24, 8421 Concord Mills Boulevard in Concord, had more Indian films than any other Charlotte-area theater when we checked. Its schedule for the week of 3 to 9 October 2026 listed at least eleven Indian titles: five Telugu, three Hindi, two Tamil and one Malayalam, all with English subtitles on recliner screens. It also has IMAX with Laser, Dolby Cinema and a ScreenX auditorium. Check which screen a show is on before you buy, because premium formats cost more.
South Charlotte: Carolina Pavilion and Stonecrest
AMC Carolina Pavilion 22, 9541 South Boulevard near Pineville, had six Indian titles that same week: three Telugu, two Hindi and one Tamil. Regal Stonecrest at Piper Glen, 7824 Rea Road in south Charlotte, had four: two Telugu, one Tamil and one Hindi. Between them they carried seven of the Indian titles playing at Concord Mills, without the drive to Concord.
University City, Monroe Road and Northlake
Regal Starlight, 11240 US Highway 29 near University City, had three Indian titles that week, two Telugu and one Hindi. Cinemark Bistro Charlotte, 9630 Monroe Road in southeast Charlotte, is a dine-in theater; it had a Hindi and a Telugu film, with a second Telugu title booked from 8 October. AMC Northlake 14, 7325 Northlake Mall Drive, had two, one Hindi and one Telugu. That week these three had the fewest Indian titles, so if a film is not on here, look at Concord Mills and Carolina Pavilion.
How to find a showtime
Start with the film, not the theater. Search the title on Fandango, or on the AMC, Regal or Cinemark site with a Charlotte ZIP code, and you see every nearby theater carrying it. The chains put the language in the title, as in “Telugu with English Subtitles” on Cinemark, so check it before you pay. Indian listing sites such as NowRunning have a Charlotte page, but in October 2026 it tracked only two theaters, so treat it as a starting point. Our movies page shows verified schedules from four of these theaters.
Premiere night
Telugu films traditionally hold their US premiere shows on the Thursday before the Friday release in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. You can see it in Charlotte: the Telugu film Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 opens in India on Friday 9 October 2026, and Cinemark Bistro Charlotte has it booked from Thursday 8 October. Some big films have moved premieres to Wednesday; Pawan Kalyan’s OG premiered in North America on Wednesday 24 September 2025. Hindi releases can arrive the same weekend as India too. Drishyam: The Conclusion opened in India on Friday 2 October 2026 and was showing at six Charlotte theaters in its first week. Premiere shows for star films are priced well above a normal ticket and the good seats go first, so book when the theater opens sales rather than at the door.
What tickets cost
Prices vary by film, theater chain and screen, so the number that counts is the one at checkout. National reporting gives a guide. For the Telugu film Peddi in May 2026, regular 2D premiere tickets in the US ran about $20 to $25, a premium large-format screen added about $5, D-BOX and similar formats another $7 to $10, and some totals passed $40 after taxes and fees. A 2024 column on 123telugu put first-week prices for big-star Telugu films at $25 to $40, Thursday to Thursday. These are US-wide figures, not Charlotte quotes.
Streaming, and where to talk about it
If a film has left theaters or never came to Charlotte, our movies page lists the streaming services that carry Indian films, such as Netflix, Prime Video, ZEE5 and aha, and tracks selected new releases from official streaming announcements. Watched something worth the drive, or one to skip? Say so in movie talk, the discussion board for Charlotte viewers.
