Indian music classes in Charlotte

The Indian classical music teachers and schools we have found in Greater Charlotte. It is a short list, and that reflects what is listed with us rather than everyone who teaches here. Several teachers work from home and never appear in a directory, so ask in the community groups too.

Carnatic and Hindustani vocal

Aarohan Music on Carmel Road and Sri Vageeshwari School of Music are the two established schools listed here. Samskruti teaches classical and devotional vocal online, which is worth knowing if you are outside the corridors the in-person teachers cover. Ask each about the tradition and the guru lineage they teach in, because that matters more to most families than the schedule.

Tabla and instruments

Ryan Shah teaches tabla through 9andMusic. Instrument teaching here is thinner than vocal, and veena, violin and flute teachers mostly work privately rather than through a school, so word of mouth in the community groups is often the only way to find them.
