Playing cricket in Charlotte

Cricket in Charlotte runs on academies for coaching and league clubs for adult play, and the two are separate worlds. The academies listed here are the ones in our directory. Leagues and pickup games move around and organise mostly through their own sites and WhatsApp, so this page points you at the door rather than pretending to a fixture list.

Coaching for children

Elite Cricket Academy on Pence Road in Charlotte and Core Cricket Academy, which has Concord and Pineville, are the academies listed with us. Both run junior coaching. Ask about indoor nets over winter, because that is what separates a year-round programme from a summer one in this climate.

Adult league play

League cricket here is run by clubs rather than by a single organisation, and teams recruit through their own networks. Carolina Cricket Alliance is the organisation most often named locally. We are not publishing a grounds or fixtures list, because both change every season and a stale fixture is worse than none. The community WhatsApp groups on this site are a faster way in than any directory.

Mecklenburg County maintains public fields that clubs book for matches, and permits go through the county rather than through a club. Check the county parks system directly for what is bookable and when, rather than turning up.
